POST THE MONTH HERE Challenge Animal is:
!!Felis catus!! or better known as: !!American Bombay!!

Image

The American cat breed, named Bombay, was bred in 1958 in Louisville, Kentucky, when Nikki Horner of Shawnee Cattery deliberately bred an American Shorthair with a Burmese for the purpose of creating a domesticated cat that resembled a "miniature black panther". This earned the Bombay the nickname "parlor panther".

Bombays tend to be attached to their families and crave attention, and for this reason this breed is highly suitable for children. Bombay cats are not independent. They seek attention from their owners and people around them often and dislike being left alone for extended periods of time. Although they like attention, Bombay Cats also tend to have a special person which they pay close attention to in their lives.

Overall, the Bombay breed is intelligent, playful, and attention seeking. They tend to get along well with other cats, as they have an established pecking order in the household. They have a very distinctive purr and love to snuggle. On cold days they can be found next to any source of heat they can find.

Sorry it's almost a week late. I kept going back and forth on what animal to do. This one or the American Longhair Tuxedo cat >.> I ended up being silly and choosing the animal for Chenelle's servant >.> But it was really hard to do, because I'm actually really afraid of underwater creatures. lol I had to look at everything from the corner of my eye XD

We had the Wonderpus Octopus in October 2008, but that has been the only octopus as far as I have been aware...

Cute animal, Merry! ^^ I'm excited to see entries!

Fluff's right. It was done in February of 2006.

You don't need the old boards to look. It's listed in the "FEATURED ANIMALS OF PAST CHALLENGES" section of this board. viewtopic.php?f=19&t=1749

It's still a cool animal, though.

I was also thinking this may have been done before, I remember Freckles creating an original Ace with this animal... but then I thought I may just have my wires crossed. XD

Fluff and Cyangoose, you guys both have a good memory. ^^

I was going to say "no need to do so" but then I decided to check the actual MAC rules and it was good that I did because it says:
*Only ONE animal specie per challenge. If the animal specie has been challenged before, you cannot use it again.
So from that I'd say yes if it is the same exact animal and not a sub-species for example.

Btw, MAC mods? You might want to edit the stickied MAC threads a little. Maybe make them look your style - or at least remove the parts that tell people to pm KP. ...Unless you want them to pm KP, in which case you're all good. XD

Yeah, I will definitely catch VV some time and chat with her about editing the rules somewhat here and there.

As for this challenge, I suppose you will have to pick a new animal, Merry. Or perhaps you could just change it to a different sub-species that you still like? Octopi are still lovely ^^
